| The Vista SP1 saga continues . . . |
As more and more Vista computers are being upgraded to Service Pack 1 (SP1)
more reviews and results are being reported. A few people have reported an improvement
in speed and performance after the upgrade to SP1. But more Vista users have reported that installing SP1 didn't help anything, or improved performance very little.
A lot of computer users who are configured to dual boot to either Windows XP with SP2,
or with Vista SP1, report that Windows XP with SP2 still out performs Vista with SP1. Your mileage may vary.
And there are reports of some programs that no longer work on Vista after upgrading to SP1.
The advice for now is not to be in any big hurry to upgrade your Vista PC to SP1. By the time
Microsoft makes the SP1 update to normal every day Vista users within the next couple of months, SP1 should have the glitches and bugs worked out.
