| Windows XP after June 30? The verdict is . . . Clearly Confusing |
Microsoft has made a decision about the availability of Windows XP after the most recent deadline of June 30.
Retail versions of XP (full and upgrade) will no longer be available after June 30.
Windows XP PRO will no longer be available on the name branded pc's like Dell, HP, Compaq, etc after June 30. However, Windows XP HOME can still be sold by these vendors after June 30 on what are called ULCPC's, or Ultra Low Cost PC's.
Independent System Builders like ACCS can legitimately continue to sell new pc's with Windows XP Pro or Windows XP Home installed, until Jan 31 2009. Or until the next date change by Microsoft.
